Obligatory Pumpkin Patch Post

Just in case y’all haven’t seen enough pumpkin patch posts floating around.. 😉  Baby Max absolutely loves anything that is shaped like a ball. Go figure. So of course, all the pumpkins at the pumpkin patch earned me some MAJOR points on the best mom ever scale. It was like an orange ball heaven.  Another bonus…he had one of his besties with him.

Me Vs. Procrastination

Holy. Cow. The last couple months have been a whirlwind. I think I last left y’all with the news that I was starting an Instagram/Etsy shop, Little Nugget Apparel. It has been successful (YAY!). I have been so busy that my first love, this blog, has fallen to the wayside. I’m finally feeling more in control of time management and I’m ready to bring this bad boy back to life. I need you guys to help me stay accountable for things like, brushing my teeth before noon meal planning, keeping my workouts up to par, and most importantly letting me journal our crazy life.

I’m going to give y’all a speedy break down of what has been happening in our life. Ready? Ok.

  1. Max turned one. Yes, ONE years old. It’s going too fast.
  2. My sweet nephew, Bash, was born. He’s the cutest, chillest, squishiest, longest, best baby ever.
  3. Max walked. Our lives are officially changed for the crazier. He gets into everything. He’s most obsessed with boxes, toilet paper, and dog bowls full of water.
  4. We traveled to Montana. Again. Just me and Max, all by ourselves to see family. The kid has been to Montana 4 times this year. We really want him to be comfortable with his last name. Ha.
  5. I redecorated. Out with the reds, in with the blue-ish grays and farmhouse tables.
  6. My work-outs have found new life, and I am SO excited to share them with you.
  7. I’ve learned that coffee really is vital to raising babies and businesses. And my coffee would be nothing without my Almond Milk Vanilla creamer. If you haven’t tried it…you have to. ASAP.
  8. MAX SLEEPS FROM 730pm-730am! I should have put that first. And in bold. I love sleep. I had missed it SO much.

This is my pledge to never fall behind, be a better blogger, and only procrastinating when it’s truly necessary (like when I have to update my inventory sheet, and give my hubby all my receipts shhh.) Stay with me y’all. The rest of this year is going to be a crazy ride. I can’t wait to share it with you.

Did I brush my teeth?

You know those days where you look at the clock and it says 12:30…you’re still in your pajamas, the baby still hasn’t taken a nap (he’s been up since 6:30 mind you), and it’s a miracle you’ve eaten anything? And then it hits you, the teeth have not been brushed since the night before, or you think?  This, my friends, is what a baby growth spurt/teething episode looks like in our life. On the bright side, this phase only lasted one day (hallelujah)!  Today is a new day, it’s now 10:30, Max is asleep, my hair is done, my teeth are for sure brushed, and I’m dressed.  I think I’m so put together already because I have been SO excited to share our surprise with y’all!

But first…here is the quick Bailey/Daddy/Max cuddle session that happened last night…

^^These cheese faces are partly the result of the camera flash that is SO funny!  I had to share these to keep the suspense going…and because these are too dang cute not to share!

Ok…now for the surprise.

This has been a long time coming. I’m not pregnant, sorry to disappoint. Ha!  Since my precious niece was born two years ago (how is that possible?) I have been following mama and baby clothing shops on instagram. And somewhat obsessing over them. I knew that this is something I would love to do. Hip, graphic tees and onesies for littles and mamas.. How much fun is that?  I finally got the confidence to just do it.  The hubby plays a big role in this confidence, “the only way to fail is to never try”. I can’t give all the credit to my hubby for helping me get this going, my good friend, Rhiannon (you’ll see lots of pics of her and her baby soon), came up with the name to the shop! Guys….Little Nugget Apparel is now open for business!! You can find us on Instagram and Etsy. Please take a look! Give suggestions! We’re in the very beginning phases of this venture, I’ve never done anything like this before and seriously welcome any advice y’all have!  Here are some pics of the first designs we have available for purchase now! You’ll also find the link to our little shop at the end of this post!  Thanks for reading this lengthy post and being loyal readers!  Love ALL of you!

The First Hair Cut

Baby Max had his first hair cut this weekend. Yep. It was quite the ordeal, we had grandparents, aunts and an uncle present for the event. As we walked into the cutesie little kids salon, the hair stylist asked me if I wanted to save his hair from this monumental cut..I quickly replied with, “of course not, I have no idea what I would do with it”.  And that was that. As she started snipping away and his little hairs fell to the ground, I understood why she asked me if I wanted to keep those first hair cut hairs. It’s like the last bit of that itty bitty baby phase you can hold onto (crap,I’m turning into a sap). And just like that my baby turned into a big boy. Not kidding. It aged the guy by at least 4 months. Take a look!

Try not to get too teary eyed guys, the little guy is growing up! Every new little phase is so much fun, I can’t wait to see what short-haired baby Max has in store for us.

P.S. The surprise will be revealed this week! It’s still a work in progress. 😉

What’s On Our Menu

Mondays do not have the greatest reputation, they mean getting up earlier, actually being productive, and in our case, getting organized for the week ahead! Today was filled with laundry, cleaning, meal planning, and grocery shopping. We usually try to get our grocery shopping done on Sundays, but that wasn’t happening during the Super Bowl! So here we are, on a Monday, trying to get our week ahead organized.  Here is what we have planned for our dinners (which turn into lunches the next day)  so far:

Monday: Chicken pot pie, the healthy version! I will post the recipe for all you pot pie lovers later.

Tuesday: Chicken Enchiladas

Wednesday: Spaghetti and meatballs

Thursday: Leftovers (I know..so boring)

Friday: Baked Tacos

Saturday and Sunday are always random so I don’t plan meals for the weekend.

Grocery List:  (I already have some ingredients for the meals I am making so my grocery list is not too crazy)

Almond milk, cheese, Kerrygold butter (the hubby is obsessed with his bulletproof coffee..we’ll talk more about that later) bananas, blueberries, mixed green salad, salsa, tortillas, green bell pepper, onion, avocado (for Max), baby food, marinara sauce

Please let me know which meal you guys would like the recipe for! All of the meals I do throughout the week are super easy and healthy. The best kind of meals, right?!

Have a great week everyone!

The Montanas in Montana Part II

Our trip to Montana was nothing but amazing. We spent the first few days in my hometown, Billings, visiting family and enjoying every second. Then, we left for Big Sky to shred some “pow pow”.  The weather was freezing, -20 to be exact, the snow was perfect, and the mountain was beautiful. I am not a very good skier,  I’m so bad that most of the green runs were somewhat terrifying. The only thing going through my head most of the time was “make a pizza, pizza, turn, turn, holy crap!” The good news is that by the end of our trip, 3 full ski days, I was starting to feel much more confident! And there is an upside of being bad, I got a major workout! Talk about some burning quads and buns! (I may have counted that as my workouts)  Our vacation was perfect; so much snow, beautiful mountain views, precious bundled babies, family naps, and priceless family bonding. We can’t wait for next year!

^^Max was a little too excited about our trip to sleep on the airplane ride home! Thanks Auntie Kienna for the pic! 🙂

I hope you all enjoyed your holidays as much as we did! Here is to an amazing 2015!!

Precious Little Moments

Last week was one of those I can’t get my head above the water kind of weeks. Laundry was never ending, there were always dishes in the sink, and the little baby toys were always scattered randomly throughout my house (he isn’t even mobile yet, why are there toys everywhere? LOL). Why was last week crazier than all the other weeks?  I took more time to just sit and watch Max instead of rushing to clean when he was happy in his jumper. We read so many books, sang so many songs, took long walks, and worked out at home together (he really likes to laugh at me). I took more time to enjoy the little things with that little babe of mine. Time is going so fast and it is making me one of those emotional moms.  Just look at this little face…who wants to clean (or be any kind of productive) when you have these little cheeks to love on?! So, my new goal is to slow down, enjoy every little second I have with this baby while he is still just that, a baby!

Before you get bombarded with sweet baby pictures, here is what we like to do on our long walks!

The Walk Challenge

Walk for 10 minutes do 15 burpees (yes my neighbors might think I’m crazy HA) and repeat

At every bench you walk by, do 15 step-ups on each leg

After you finish your step-ups do 15 push-ups followed by 20 dips on that same bench and continue walking!

This makes our walks a little more exciting for me and baby Max! Try it! Let me know what you think!

The Pumpkin Patch

I have been looking forward to the pumpkin patch since I found out I was pregnant with baby Max. I’m such a sucker for fall traditions. Baby Max was such a champ, he only cried a few times, ha! We are so lucky to have family close that all look forward to partake in these types of photo ops. Prepare yourself for picture overload.

I can’t post this without at least a few health tips!

1. Bring a water bottle!

2. Drink a protein shake or eat before you go. That will help curb your cravings for those funnel cakes and corn dogs.

3. Wear sunscreen! (yep, I officially sound like my mother)

Clearly, we enjoyed our day so much!  I hope y’all had a great weekend!  How many of you have checked out the pumpkin patch?!

It’s Fall Y’all

YAY! I have been waiting all year for this. It is officially fall and I wasted no time getting all of our seasonal décor out! There is just something about fall that makes me so excited! Poor Max has to endure all my excitement and picture taking all by himself. Just wait until we go to the pumpkin patch, my camera will have never seen so much action. If my husband didn’t think I already went overboard with fall decorations, I would still be at Hobby Lobby bargain shopping cute pumpkins and anything else I can get for 40% off! He he.
